How did you come up with the name?
We actually opened Boostcycle in Newtown and wanted the juice bar to be a sister property so we kept the names the same. Boost came about because when you work out you give your body a boost to becoming a better you same with the juice bar your boosting your body with amazing nutrients.

Why start a business in this town?
We always loved the feel of downtown Bethel. People are always walking and you get a good sense of community so when the opportunity came to open the juice bar we thought it would be perfect. Everyone has become so health conscious these days. We wanted to be a place people can pick up a healthy lunch or snack. This all happened for us because we were looking for a local juice bar to make juices for the cycling studio. We found out the juice bar in Bethel was selling. Although it was crazy to open 2 businesses at the same time, it just felt right!. So we got my husband’s mother involved to help us run it. It became a family business!

Briefly, what business are you in?
We offer fresh juices, smoothies, vegan sandwiches and salads. We also offer juice cleanses to help your body detox. Boostcycle in Newtown is a cycling studio that offers high energy cycling classes— not your traditional spin class.
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
I think our biggest challenge is explaining to people that being healthy is a lifestyle and there is no quick fix to that. There is no miracle cleanse or miracle pills. It is so important to really watch what you put into your body and have a plan with goals.
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?
We love hearing success stories from our customers. They come in so happy after doing a cleanse. They not only get the results they wanted, but they just feel good. The best part is helping them through the next step and really guiding them through a healthy lifestyle. We don’t believe in just doing a juice cleanse, we want to continue guiding you to a healthy lifestyle. The juice cleanse is just the first step.
How does your business give back or get involved in the community?
We have only been open for a few months but we want to get involved with different events in town and races. We did the Sandy Hook 5K and it was such an incredible event. We would love to do one every weekend if possible.
