How did you come up with the name?
I thought that using my name would give people quick knowledge about what my business is all about and who is doing the teaching.

I live in this town and I my home is the easiest place to hold lessons. My home gives a relaxed feel to the teaching environment, as well as a sense of “let’s get to work and play some music.”
Briefly, what business are you in?

I am in the business of teaching children, adults and senior citizens how to play the piano. I also help people bring the joy of music into their lives. They begin the life-long love of the piano. Mastering the piano not only strengthens the brain, eye hand coordination and math skills, but also builds self-confidence.
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
My greatest challenge has been learning to be a great business person. When I started I had no idea how to build a business. It’s much more fun to watch my students grow in skill, confidence and joy, than pay bills, advertise and deal with money.
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening?
My proudest achievement is when I have a recital; watching my students perform and show their skills learned throughout the year. This is the most wonderful thing in the world. I have one formal recital a year and an annual Christmas party. Each gives students opportunities to perform.
How does your business give back or get involved in the community?
I get involved in the community by participating in most Chamber of Commerce events. I give out candy at Trick or Treat Street. Popcorn balls are what I usually give. I donate lessons to local auctions such as the Bethel Education Foundation, The Scotty Fund’s Christmas Tree Gala and Saint Mary auction. I also am on the Saint Thomas food pantry board.
