BETHEO, CT — Eleanor Hannan Davis, 83, of Bethel, died peacefully on Friday at her home surrounded by her family. Eleanor was born Eleanor May Hall in Sharon in 1933. Daughter of the late Donald and Mildred Hall, she grew up in Kent, where she would return later in life. In 1953, she married John "Jack" Murray Hannan of Danbury. Together, Eleanor and Jack raised six children, spending many summers and making wonderful memories at their beach home in Scarborough, Maine.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Barbara Eimicke and her husband Richard of Southbury, Peter Hannan and his wife Alicia of Texas, Elizabeth Andrews and her husband Walter of Lecanto, Florida, William Hannan and his wife Anita of New Milford, Jane Maher and her husband James of Newtown, and Matthew Hannan and his wife Heather of Kent. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, her brother Walter Hall and his wife Carol of Kent, and her sister Donna Hall of East Hartford.

Eleanor's husband Jack passed away in 1987, and Eleanor then embarked on new adventures. She was especially proud to have received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Connecticut State University in 1993, at the age of 60. Eleanor was lucky enough to find love a second time with Charles "Charlie" Robert Davis, whom she married in 1994. Together, she and Charlie lived in Kent, but traveled the world, spending time with their many children and grandchildren. Charlie passed away in 2006, and Eleanor later moved to Bethel in order to be closer to her family.
