Firefighters Tackle Blaze On Quaker Ridge Road In Bethel

First responders saw smoke showing from a bedroom window.

BETHEL, CT — Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a residence on Quaker Ridge Road Saturday.

Bethel Fire & EMS and Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company received word of the fire just before 3:30 p.m. First responders saw smoke showing from a bedroom window, and evacuated all residents and pets. The fire was contained to one bedroom.

"A quick thinking resident closed the bedroom door where the fire was before exiting the home. This move helped contain the fire and deprive it of the oxygen needed for it to grow," according to the report from Stony Hill officials.
