Prep Work Begins for Route 58 Bridge Replacement
Part of Route 58 will be closed for a weekend in September.
State contractors are slated to begin preparation work Monday ahead of replacing the bridge over Putnam Brook on Route 58, near the intersection with Saras Way.
When ready, crews will be closing the portion of the roadway over a single weekend while precast box culvert and wingwalls are put in place and the new bridge is paved over.
The weekend closure is tentatively set to begin on either Sept. 12 or Sept. 19.
Detours (using Route 302 and Route 53) and specific closure dates and times will be released closer to the construction date.
