BETHEL, CT — Police are warning residents about a new breed of burglaries they say has become an ongoing threat throughout Connecticut over the past few months.
Scammers posing as employees from various occupations such as state jobs, water supply businesses, and energy companies will distract victims in order to gain entry into their homes.
Additionally, scammers have posed as energy or service providers over the phone and insist that the victim pay their outstanding bill.

"Please be mindful of the potential for these incidents and call the Bethel Police Department should you observe or experience any suspicious activity," officials advised on social media.
