Amity Musical Postponed & Ticket Info
All of the changes will cause a profound loss of revenue for the theater department and their productions.

Dear Friends,
Greetings from all of us at Amity Creative Theater at Amity High School. I hope that each and every one of you is safe and healthy. Our community is so important to us. It has been our joy and privilege to make the BOW glow with excitement each fall and spring. Sadly, this year will be different. As you can imagine, our school has been significantly impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 virus. With courage and hope, we are looking forward to a time when we can all be together safely. We appreciate the support of our students by our Principal Mrs. Mahon and our Superintendent Dr. Byars.

SCHEDULE CHANGES
Our production of the Drowsy Chaperone which was scheduled for the end of March and beginning of April was postponed. We were hoping to produce the show at the end of this month. We now know that is just not possible. We are going to have to postpone once again. We are still hanging on to hope that somehow, someway we will present this show in some capacity before the end of the summer and before our seniors leave for college. We do not know when that will be. The cast is still rehearsing twice a week on zoom and keeping their performing dreams alive. As soon as we know when the show will be produced, you will be the first to know! We have information about tickets included below. It is our hope you are able to see us perform our show very soon!
IMPACT ON OUR ORGANIZATION
All of these changes will cause a profound loss of revenue for the theater department and our productions. As you may know our shows are funded entirely by our ticket, advertising and concession sales. We rely on this income to fund all the programs we run for our 200 theater students every year. Now more than ever, we need your support, your patience and your understanding as we work our way through this difficult period in our history.

IMPACT FOR OUR ADVERTISERS
Our “AmityBill” program is a massive part of our fundraising each year. The 100 page “AmityBill” is a source of pride for our school and community. We value the partnership we have with our advertisers. We literally could not survive without them. Regardless of whether we have a show or not, we will print and distribute our AmityBill to our community. The best case scenario is that we have a show and hand out the programs as usual. If the show is cancelled; we will mail each person who would have purchased a ticket a program. We will also mail a program to every household in the Amity system. Even if we have to hand deliver to mailboxes we will make sure all the programs are distributed. So our advertisers can be assured their ads will be seen by the Amity community. We thank all of our advertisers both large and small for their generosity and understanding.
