Speaker and Master Gardener, Marie Hayes, spoke about the Golden Age of Horticulture (1863-1901) and the history of Grand American Victorian Gardening at the January meeting of the Garden Club of Woodbridge. Marie delighted the group with picturesque slides of gardens she has visited around the world. She noted the beauty of some of the homes and gardens in Connecticut, e. g., the Lockwood Matthews Mansion in Norwalk and the the Bellamy-Ferriday House and Gardens in Bethlehem. Marie's unique perspective and delightful humor made her slide presentation infomative and fun.
