Man Found Dead At Park In Woodbridge: Police

The man was found shot to death at a playground/athletic field in Woodbridge, according to police.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A man was found shot to death early Tuesday morning in Woodbridge, according to police.

Woodbridge police, along with Connecticut State Police, are investigating the death as a homicide after the body was discovered on the property of the Pease Road Playground/Alegi Athletic Fields at 160 Pease Road.

A jogger reported finding the body around 6 a.m., according to police.

The man was found dead with gunshot wounds at the scene and police determined that there was no immediate threat to the community, according to officials.

“Investigators continue to work to positively identify the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding this incident,” police wrote in a news release. “The park area has been reopened to the public.”
