Even though it is a Friday of Lent, no abstinence from meat is required on Friday, March 19, 2021, as it is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph.
mWOODBRIDGE, CT - A message regarding abstinence from meat on March 19 from Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
This is a reminder to all that, as prescribed in Canon Law, abstinence from meat is to be observed on all Fridays, unless a solemnity should fall on a Friday (Canon 1251).
Therefore, even though it is a Friday of Lent, no abstinence from meat is required on Friday, March 19, 2021, as it is the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
