Obituary: Joan B. Papsin, 81, of Beacon Falls

She was employed as a legal secretary for Attorney John Welch Jr. in Shelton for over forty-five years, until her retirement.

BEACON FALLS: Joan B. Papsin, 81, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2020, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael F. Papsin.

Joan was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 24, 1938, daughter of the late Raymond and Eva Burke. A resident of Beacon Falls for forty-seven years, she was employed as a legal secretary for Attorney John Welch Jr. in Shelton for over forty-five years, until her retirement. Joan was a member of the Beacon Falls Junior Women’s Club and enjoyed shopping, attending Broadway plays & musicals and visiting the casino.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, Mark E. Papsin of Beacon Falls, grandson, Conner Papsin of Seymour, daughter-in-law, Kym Stevenson Papsin of Seymour and many friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, David M. Papsin and Craig A. Papsin and sisters, Muriel Burke and Barbara Griffin.

Friends and relatives may greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday July 9, 2020, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Masks and social distancing rules must be followed. Burial will be private.
