Verab’s has been growing plants in their greenhouses for over 45 years. The proud family business is founded, owned and operated by Bill Verab. He has grown thousands of plants since opening up the business, and his “tried and true” reliable experience continues to produce strong, optimal performing plants for home gardeners, landscapers, and businesses.

A different kind of plant place.

There are over ten greenhouses of homegrown plants at the location in Bethany. Each spring they grow their own beautiful flowering planters, hanging baskets, perennials, herb, vegetable and bedding plants. Every summer, zinnias and milkweed become available, among other items, to help feed hungry pollinators. Fall brings mums, pumpkins, cornstalks and more for the season.

Specialties include the most diverse succulent selection in New Haven County with over 55+ varieties, geraniums, begonias, fuchsia, lantana, wave petunias, red spikes (Cordyline,) Elephant Ears and SunPatiens. Their favorite hummingbird nectar plant is Hummingbird Salvia.

There are over 100 varieties of one-quart perennials, Jack’s Classic fertilizers, mixed flowering planters, and proven winner hanging basket combinations as well.
