Victim Identified In Fatal Crash In Woodbridge

One person was killed in a crash early Saturday morning in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — Police have identified the driver killed in a crash early Saturday morning in Woodbridge as Luke Smith, 20, of Bethany. The crash happened around 1 a.m. May 16 on Ansonia Road near the intersection of Milhaven Road.

Smith was traveling eastbound on Ansonia Road when he drove off the highway and struck a tree, according to Woodbridge police.

Police said Smith, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he died from his injuries. Woodbridge police are reconstructing the accident scene for the investigation.
