Woodbridge Police Blotter (June 2019)

WOODBRIDGE, CT — Woodbridge arrest log:
-- Robert Appel, 65, of 2643 Whitney Ave., Hamden, was charged with driving under the influence. He was released on $500 bond. Police said the incident was tied to a May 23 motor vehicle crash on Maplevale Drive.
-- Thomas Crocker, 33, of 181 Clinton Ave., New Haven, was charged with evading responsibility, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and failure to obey a stop sign. He was released on $500 bond and appeared in court June 11.

Police said the charges stem from a car vs. school bus accident on Beecher Road near Center Road. Upon investigating the accident officers learned that the operator of the motor vehicle fled the scene and ran into the woods. Crocker was hiding in the yard of a residence on Rice Road, according to police.
-- Joey Santiago, 25, of 89 Idylwood Ave., Waterbury, was charged with second-degree failure to appear. He was released on $5,000 bond and appeared in court June 5.

-- Patrick Mortley, 55, of 1251 Ella Grasso Blvd., New Haven, was charged with five counts of violation of probation and one count of second-degree failure to appear. On June 8, officers responded to a call regarding an unwanted person on Route 69 near the New Haven town line.
Officers learned that Mortley had six outstanding criminal re-arrest warrants. He was unable to post his combined $108,000 bond and was held at Woodbridge Police Headquarters until June 10, when he was transported to New Haven Superior Court for his arraignment.
-- Amanda Spear, 50,of 5 Highland Ave. Ansonia, was charged with driving under the influence. She posted $500 bond and appeared in court June 21.
-- Steven Verinis, 66, of 19 Fraser Drive, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane. He was was released on $500 bond and appeared in court June 25. The incident stems from a one-car accident on Grouse Lane June 15.
-- Steven Farrell, 54, of 20 Falcon Lane, Bethany, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane. He was released on $2,500 bond and appeared in court June 28.
