Belden Island, One Of The Thimbles, Sells For $1.25 Million

BRANFORD, CT —Last year, Jepson Island, one of the Thimble Islands that pepper the Branford coastline near of Stony Creek, was sold.

Now, another Thimble has a new owner. Belden Island has sold for $1.25 million, William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty told Patch Wednesday.

The one-acre Belden Island —with two acres of deeded adjacent shellfish beds — includes a four-bedroom "cottage" overlooking a rolling lawn, sandy beach and private dock.

The island is one of three originally offered for sale by William Pitt – Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty.

Jepson Island sold last summer for $715,000.

On the market for 69 days, the home on Belden Island, was described as a "sanctuary summer home."
