Each island has its own beach, gardens, solar power, generators and city water. The islands provide a sense of escape in these uncertain times, as well as control, as they are totally exclusive to whoever owns them, and to a great extent self-sustaining.

The sellers are Christine and Edmund Stoecklein. She is the widow of John Svenningsen, founder of Amscan Holdings, Inc. They initially came to the Thimbles in the 1970s; she purchased many of the islands in the late 90s and early 2000s after his death.

The agent is Margaret Muir, with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty.
