Mobile Home Park in Branford Faces an Uncertain Future

The park could lose its operating license if a replacement for the current management company isn't found.

Shoreline Trailer Court, a mobile home park in Branford, risks losing its license to operate, the New Haven Register reports.

The owner of the property, Anthony Ferraro, needs to find a new management company by Oct. 1.

According to the paper, after being cited last fall by the State Department of Consumer Protection for health and safety issues, the DCP sanctioned Renaissance Collaborative to submit a remediation plan. Renaissance’s plan was rejected by the DCP in July and the department chose to implement its own plan that included fines if certain benchmarks were not met.

Diane Lane, a resident of the mobile home park, told the paper there are feral cats and rodents living beneath several of the mobile homes causing a flea infestation.

Part of the DCP’s remediation plan includes the removal of the rodents and the demolition of five vacant mobile homes.
