Black Rock's Harborfest 375 Kick-Off with Golf Cart Parade

Mayor Joe Ganim Attends Harborfest 375 Party at Port 5

Mayor Joe Ganim, City Council candidates Matt McCarthy and Scott Burns, and former City Council Member Susan Brannelly Martin were among the dozens of community leaders who participated in Harborfest, a day long program of activities was hosted by the Black Rock Community Council along Bridgeport’s Black Rock neighborhood on September 14, 2019.

The first event was a coastal bike tour of Black Rock led by Phil Blagys, chairman of the Black Rock 375 Committee. In the afternoon, there was a Golf Cart Parade ending at Port 5 Naval Veterans Club thanks to the support of Commander Richard Iannucci. In the evening there was a boat parade also ending at Port 5. The night finished with a fireworks display.

"What makes Black Rock such a great neighborhood is the many community events like Harborfest, Porchfest and Black Rock Day," stated Susan Brannelly Martin. "People choose to live in Black Rock to enjoy the waterfront community, the great people who live here and the fun activities," Brannelly added.
