Bridgeport Autism Agency Owner Pleads Guilty To Health Care Fraud
Nicole Balkas bilked Medicaid for more than $500,000, according to federal prosecutors.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The owner of an autism agency has pleaded guilty to health care fraud, according to Leonard C Boyle, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Nicole Balkas, 31, pleaded guilty to one count of health care fraud.
According to prosecutors, Balkas owned and operated Helping Hands Academy, LLC, in Bridgeport, which provided applied behavior analysis services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
