Bridgeport Bluefish Find New Home: Report

Next summer will be the first in 20 years without Bluefish Baseball at Harbor Yard.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — It only took a few weeks, but the Bridgeport Bluefish have found a new home. According to a report from the Connecticut Post, the Bluefish will move to High Point, NC, as revealed by the Atlantic League.

For the first time in 20 years, the Bluefish will not inhabit the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Their 5,000 seat ballpark will be turned into an amphitheater, which will host 25 concerts per year.

The team's contract will come to a close at the end of the 2017 season, and city officials decided not to renew their deal in August. The team's final home game is Sunday, Sept. 17. The Connecticut Post reports the amphitheater proposal has yet to be finalized, and has to jump through a number of legal hoops.
