Bridgeport High School Student Wins Scholarship
The student is one of three from across the state to win the scholarship.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport student has won a scholarship through Connex Credit Union. Bridgeport resident and Notre Dame Fairfield Senior Kayla Keddo was awarded the $2,000 Arthur B. Haesche Memorial Scholarship.
This honor, which is named after one of Connex’s founding members, is reserved for students majoring in business or finance—the latter being Keddo’s intended major in college, according to a statement. In addition to her studies, Keddo is a varsity cheerleader and has been involved in a variety of school activities including being a Link Crew leader, a co-facilitator for the Campus Ministry Parent/Child Book Club and an ambassador for the Mental and Financial Intelligence Club.
Connex Credit Union selected three local students as the 2021 winners of its annual scholarship program. Offered as part of its ConnexCares philanthropic initiative, the credit union awards $6,000 each year to help offset the high cost of tuition, books and living expenses.

With this in mind, what strategies would be helpful for individuals and families to help avoid financial emergencies in the future? How can credit unions help members be prepared for financial difficulties?”
