Bridgeport Restaurant Owner Under Investigation By State: Report
The owner of Vazzy's restaurant is being investigated for potential violations of workplace laws.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The owner of Vazzy's restaurant is being investigated for potential violations of workplace laws, according to The Connecticut Post.
Owner John Vazzano is accused of interfering in a sexual assault investigation involving two employees at his restaurant on Broadbridge Road in Bridgeport. Vazzano was charged in February with bribery of a witness, third-degree hindering prosecution and interfering with police. He was released on a $50,000 bond back in February.
Jaime Sena, a Vazzy's dishwasher, was charged in February 2020 with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old female coworker. There's also an arrest warrant out for a second suspect in the case, cook Jose Tsenkush.

The Connecticut Department of Labor Wage and Workplace Standards Unit is investigating claims that some staffers were paid off the books and proper record keeping wasn't maintained, Hearst CT reports. Vazzano's attorney vowed that his client would cooperate fully with the state's investigation.
