Car Crashes Into Bridgeport Business, Injures 2

A driver and passenger were injured when they crashed into a business Tuesday night.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A speeding car crashed into a business on Tuesday night, injuring the driver and a passenger, according to police. A 23-year-old Seymour man was traveling southbound on Main Street at 10:38 p.m. when he lost control of his 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, crossed into the southbound lane, left the road, and crashed into Tony's Smoke Shop.

The store was closed at the time of the incident.

Emergency crews responded and extricated the driver and the passenger. Both were transported to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger, a 23-year-old Stratford man, is in critical condition.

The Bridgeport Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to conduct a further investigation. Anyone with additional information, related to this crash, is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police Department's Traffic Division (Officer Aaron Rivera) at 203-576-7640.
