City Lights Leaders Commit to Another Term

Officers Return to Lead Organization for 15th Anniversary

City Lights Gallery has announced the re-election of its officers for the 2019 Board of Directors. Kelly O'Donnell, Esquire of Pullman & Comley LLC was re-elected President; John Brannelly of the St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation as Vice President; Jeffrey Goldwasser of Spectra Advisors as Treasurer; and Camelia Lawrence, MD, FACS of Hartford HealthCare Cancer Center as Secretary. They join a dozen other volunteers who serve as board members to help guide the organization's art programs and services in the community.

"The continued support of these dynamic community leaders will help expand City Lights's arts programming in 2019," stated Suzanne Kachmar, Executive Director of City Lights Gallery, City Lights Vintage and the Bridgeport Art Trail. "Art is an important component to thriving communities and we are working to expand our scope to inspire more people," Kachmar added.

Their nomination was unanimously approved by the board of directors at its recent meeting. Other members of the City Lights Board of Directors include: Brad Berman, Gail Buccino, James A. Connelly, Claribel Correano, George Dragone, Meredith Guinness Fredericks, Ann Franzen, Courtney George, Esquire, Steve Gerber, Sabine Kuczo, Michael Riley, Esquire, Rev. Sara Smith, Preston Tisdale, Esquire, Bruce Williams and Elizabeth Zezima.

Located at 265 Golden Hill Street in Downtown Bridgeport, City Lights Gallery presents local, regional and emerging artists to Bridgeport and its visitors. The gallery hosts various community-based exhibits and events such as: Artists' Receptions, Arts/crafts classes, Open Studio Workshop, Lunch Time Art Demonstrations and other special events.

In addition, the Gallery is a retail store for local artists to showcase and sell their works. In addition, at 267 Golden Hill Street, City Lights Vintage is a unique resale shop of memorabilia from yesteryear on consignment.
