​Downtown Rolls Out the Rainbow Carpet

The annual SameSex Art Exhibit and Bridgeport Pride March will be held at City Lights Gallery on Thursday, July 20, 2017 beginning at 5:30 PM at 265 Golden Hill Street, Bridgeport. The opening reception will be followed by the Bridgeport Pride March kicking off at 7:45 PM. It is sponsored by the Triangle Community Center and Dave Ivanko & John Brannelly. Tickets to the reception are $10 and participation the Pride March is free.

The SameSex exhibit features 20 regional and national artists presenting their personal expressions regarding LGBTQ issues. Inclusion, respect, solidarity and growing community are the themes of this exhibit. Among the exhibiting artists are: Christopher Augerson , Patrice Barret, Darron Copeland, Daniel Eugene, Steve Gerber, Herm Freeman, Kenn Hopkins, Rickie Mestre, Andrew Graham, Jay’d Hagberg, Allison Margo, Nancy Moore, Prime, Jon Puozzoli, Rahvision, Ellen Schindermann and Richard Taddei.

After the Pride March, the festivities continue with AN UNFORGETTABLE VARIETY SHOW featuring ‘Liberace’ and all male comedy ballet troupe begins at 8:30 PM. The New England Ballet company includes a line-up of local and world renowned performers donating their time and talent. Victor Trevino presents a sampling of his world renowned Ballet Eloelle. The piano playing skills and costumes of David Maiocco dazzle the audience with excerpts from his “Evening with Liberace.” Other acts include: a dance tribute by Luis Antonio of Elm City Dance Studio, live painting by Ricky Mestre, Drag performance and stand-up comedy. Tickets to the Show are $20.
