Family Adoption Conference Sponsored by Adoptions From The Heart

Connecticut Council on Adoption Event Features Two Acclaimed National Experts for "Progressing from Child Placement to Family Success."

North Haven, CT – The Connecticut Council on Adoption is proud to announce that two highly respected national experts on child welfare, adoption, foster care and permanency will be the keynote presenters at our National Adoption Awareness Month conference. The event, titled “Progressing from Child Placement to Family Success,” will take place at the Fantasia banquet hall in North Haven on Thursday November 1, 2018. The conference is also sponsored by the Department of Children and Families, the UConn Adoption Assistance Program and Adoptions from the Heart.

Adam Pertman, President of the National Center on Adoption and Permanency (NCAP), and Allison Davis Maxon, NCAP’s Executive Director, will offer valuable knowledge, insights and inspiration for both professionals and families who attend the conference. Drawing from extensive research/evidence and broad experience relating to adoption policy and practice, Allison and Adam will provide a framework for helping to facilitate permanency-focused, attachment-based care and services.

NCAP is a national not-for-profit organization whose mission is to move policy and practice in child welfare beyond their current “child placement” focus to a new model, the goal of which is to enable children and their families to succeed.
