Local United Way Donates 24,000 Masks to FEED Center
Masks to be distributed to area clients of food pantry and community kitchen network
United Way of Coastal Fairfield County recently donated 24,000 KN-95 masks to the FEED Center (Center for Food Equity & Economic Development). An initiative of the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport, the FEED Center supports an area network of 40 food pantries and community kitchens serving 20,000 residents each month.
Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) lifted guidelines, masks are needed by local seniors, parents of unvaccinated children, workers in the public eye, and those with compromised immune systems.
The donation was made possible by Yale New Haven Health.
