Man Living In Bridgeport Pleads Guilty To Illegal Reentry: Feds
Juan Luis Monzon Monteroso, a citizen of Guatemala last residing in Bridgeport, was arrested on multiple charges in 2019.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A citizen of Guatemala last residing in Bridgeport has pleaded guilty to a charge that he illegally attempted to reenter the United States, according to federal prosecutors. Juan Luis Monzon Monteroso, aka Edwin Galvez Lemus, 36, was encountered by U.S. Border Patrol in Jacksonville, FL in November 2010 and voluntarily departed the U.S.
In January 2011 and again in April 2011, Monzon Monteroso was encountered by Border Patrol in Texas and was sent to Guatemala.
Monzon Monteroso, using the alias Edwin Galvez Lemus, was arrested in December 2019 by Monroe Police and charged with assault on personnel, breach of peace, reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, and running from police.

Monzon Monteroso faces a maximum prison term of two years.
