Neighbors Rally Around Turkey Shot By Bridgeport Police

Police shot a turkey after receiving complaints about the bird being aggressive.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A group of neighbors is angry after police shot and killed a turkey, according to News 12. Police said they had multiple complaints about the bird attacking a mailman and an officer on May 26.

Police confirmed that they shot the animal after consulting with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection on how to handle the situation. However, neighbors at Burnham and Alsace streets said the turkey was still alive and an officer stabbed it until it died.
