New Commercial Airline Eyes Flights Out Of Sikorsky
A new commercial airline is exploring running flights out of Sikorsky Memorial Airport.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A new commercial airline is showing interest in flying out of Sikorsky Memorial Airport, according to The Connecticut Post. A Breeze Airway official wrote in a request to the federal government for $2.2 for Sikorsky that the airline's business strategy is "to focus on new nonstop flights and lower fairs at smaller cities such as Bridgeport (and) routes ignored by other larger airlines."
Sikorsky is located in Stratford and owned by Bridgeport.
The airline wrote that while it continues to pursue evaluating Sikorsky, there would need to be federally required improvements in order for flights to be offered.
