Obituary: Christine "Chris" Norma DelGrego, 66, of Bridgeport

Chris, known for her lively and colorful spirit, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Christine Norma DelGrego, known as Chris, 66, of Bridgeport, passed away on June 11th after a courageous battle with ALS.

Born in Presque Isle, ME on November 6, 1954, she was a daughter of Eugene Tidd and the late Lois (Barrows) Tidd.

Chris grew up in Bristol but moved to Plantsville as a teenager and graduated with the Southington High School class of 1973.

Chris always loved her coworkers made lasting friends at every job she had along the way. This includes her best friend for life, Donna, and her husband, Richard.

She retired from a life behind the desk on January 5, 2016.

When asked how she wanted to be remembered by her loved ones, Chris replied “I wasn’t reserved!” which is a very true statement; she had a phenomenal sense of humor and you really never knew what would come out of her mouth, but you would certainly laugh.

She loved to read, knit, and travel with her trusty sidekick, “Albrecht” but above all, Chris loved to spend time with her grandbabies; they were truly the light of her life.

Chris is survived by her husband of over 44 years, Richard DelGrego; her sons & daughters-in-law, William DelGrego & Jouli Tarek, and Michael DelGrego & Lisan Do; her cherished grandbabies, Leah, Lucas, Liam and Lana; her father, Eugene Tidd; her siblings, Gregg (Nancy) Tidd, Anita (Ed) Niedzialek, Joe (Marylou) Tidd and Janet Corder; her mother-in-law, Elsie DelGrego; brothers-in-law, Paul (Barbara) DelGrego and Bill (Tina) DelGrego; 5 nephews; a niece; 3 great-nephews; 2 great-nieces; her best friend, Donna Martins; her Cablevision family; her cats; as well as numerous extended family members & many beloved friends.

She was predeceased by her mother. Chris made an impact on absolutely everyone she met, and she will truly be missed, and always remembered with great love.

Chris's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford on Sunday, June 27th from 1:00 - 3:00PM with a memorial service and time for memory sharing beginning at 3:00PM.

To honor Chris’ lively and colorful spirit, family members and friends are asked to wear bright clothing and be ready to share memories of the good times.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your preferred charity.
