Obituary: Henry L. Williams, 66, of Bridgeport

Williams, a Vietnam War U. S. Coast Guard veteran, was a supervisor at Sikorsky Aircraft where he had been employed for 46 years.

Henry L. Williams, 66, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Joan (Moore) Williams, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Mr. Williams was born in North Carolina to the late Willie and Catherine Williams. He was a Vietnam War U. S. Coast Guard veteran.

Mr. Williams was employed as a supervisor at Sikorsky Aircraft where he had been employed for 46 years. While working full-time, he attended college and earned two master degrees from Fairfield University and Albertus Magnus College. Henry loved fishing and truly enjoyed his job and work.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two beloved daughters, Cathy Williams and Tamara “Tish” Powell and her husband, Trevor, all of Bridgeport; his cherished granddaughter, Adell “Sweet Pea” Van Powell; three sisters, including Coretta Williams of Stratford; eight brothers, including, Willie Williams of Stratford; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. Interment and all other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to “SWIM Across the Sound” c/o St. Vincent Medical Center, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606.
