Obituary: Tony F. Caramanica, 42, of Bridgeport

Tony, an avid fan of digging for gems, rocks and minerals, worked as a Landscaper for Monet Landscaping of Bridgeport/Monroe for many years.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) Tony F. Caramanica, 42, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen Prior. Tony was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 17, 1978 and was the son of Ronald and Wendy Rice Caramanica.

He had worked as a Landscaper for Monet Landscaping of Bridgeport/Monroe for the past 20 years.

Tony and his wife were members of the Lapidary and Mineral Society of Central Connecticut Meriden Gem & Mineral Club. He enjoyed rock finding and digging for gems and minerals and loved working gem and mineral shows.

Stepfather of Joshua Prior. Grandson of Yolanda Caramanica. Brother of Christina Caramanica-Moy (Brian Moy). Uncle of Arcangelo Caramanica.

Stepson of Michael Tomchik.

Also survived by his best friend/who was like a brother to him, Jason Maher (Kelly) and Alexis Maher who was like a niece to him.

The visiting hours will be Monday, March 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local charity of one’s choice in memory of Tony F. Caramanica
