IN 1815 steam navigation was doing well. The FULTON was put in service then.IT did business between NEW YORK and NEW HAVEN,CT.The FULTON was named after ROBERT FULTON.IN 1807 THE HUDSON RIVER was busy with steamboats.Robert Fulton died before the onset of the FULTON was on the sea.
Business thrived between NEW ENGLAND and LONG ISLAND .Agriculture and the industries blended well together. The LONG ISLAND FERRY linked the businesses together and it thrived.Even though it has been about 129 years now since its'inception the PORT JEFFERSON FERRY STEAMBOAT COMPANY thrives as well if not better today.
