GOD at 78 years old this past FEBRUARY 22ND I came to realize we lost all our theaters in our city of BRIDGEPORT.DAYS turned into months, months into years and still we have none of the movie nostalgia-that brought us so much, fun and entertainment as did our former theaters.AS a kid the choices of what movie to see was mind boggling.I remember MAIN STREET with its' beautiful marquees with the lights bright as a invite to come on in sit a while and enjoy the movies.I remember BIG BANDS coming here I believe at the LYRIC THEATER.I remember the real big theaters THE LOEWS POLI,THE MAHESTIC,THE STRAND THEATER,THE GLOBE THEATER.ALSO the RIVOLI THEATER plus the WARNER THEATER and lets' not forget THE PIX DRIVE IN/CANDLELIGHT THEATERS.WE had it all. Then again CABLE TV was unexisting.Perhaps tv movies .rentals etc took over the movie trends and changed it all for us.IT is so sad to see part of our culture gone forever-[[ear without a trace.WE will never return to the days of what I call YESTERYEAR.OUR mecca of entertainment has gone forever.OUR theater business has ''GONE WITH THE WIND''
