Books, Help Needed for Apostle Immigrant Services Fifth Annual Giant Book Sale
The sale will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Academy cafeteria.

Apostle Immigrant Services, run by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus based at Mount Sacred Heart in Hamden, will host its fifth annual Giant Used Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Academy cafeteria.
There will be thousands of books for sale…something for everyone!
THEY NEED:
- donations of books (all ages, all genres)!
- you to spread the word!
- volunteers to bring a flyer to your parish or place of business!
- buyers and browsers to come to the Book Sale!
- volunteers to help!
The proceeds benefit the work at Apostle Immigrant Services, a non-profit sponsored by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart that works with immigrants presently from 63 countries, including refugees from Iraq, Ethiopia, Syria as well as the young people who apply for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Apostle Immigrant Services of New Haven will receive the Archdiocese of Hartford’s Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry's Most Reverend Joseph P. Donnelly Organization Award for its outstanding service to the immigrant community of Greater New Haven.
Established in 2008 by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, based in Hamden, AIS is a nonprofit agency that provides a range of educational programs and legal immigration services. Its impact extends far beyond the over-400 clients served in its short history, improving the lives of family and community members and promoting greater understanding across cultural divides.

Fees are set for low-income individuals (sometimes the work is even gratis), so it depends on fundraisers like this to supplement its expenses.
It also offers a free homework Assistance Program at St. Rose/St. Francis School in Fair Haven.
