Cheshire-Based Company Teams with Jewel to Put Spotlight on Affordable Housing

Cheshire-based HAI Group continues to project a national spotlight on public and affordable housing through their ReThink: Why Housing Matters initiative with the premiere of the full-length documentary, “Our Journey Home.”

Singer-songwriter and ReThink Ambassador Jewel narrates the film and through her experience of being formerly homeless, she is able to incorporate her firsthand experience as well as her personal struggle into the film.

The storyline follows three families and examines how their relationship to ‘home’ has shaped them. It showcases how ‘home’ is more than just a physical structure and how it gives individuals a sense of belonging and stability.

With the importance of having a stable place to live highlighted in the documentary, and the fact that almost 76% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck (Bankrate.com Survey 2013), homelessness becomes more of a reality now than ever before.
