Cheshire Company Receives National Award

CHESHIRE, CT — NorthPoint Pets & Company of Cheshire recently received a national award for “2019-2020 Growth Retailer of the Year” from Pet Product News.

Pet Product News honored a select group of specialty retailers, groomers and service providers for their achievements in the pet industry. NorthPoint Pets & Company was chosen from hundreds of specialty pet shops around the country, according to a news release.

Since opening five years ago, NorthPoint Pets & Company has tripled their square footage, allowing them to add many more products and services.

“We now have a loading dock, a huge classroom, offices, a dog wash and plenty of freezer space,” owner Nicci Decrisantis said. “It’s really state-of-the-art and different from anything I’ve ever been in.”

Rather than calling the operation a retail store, Decrisantis prefers to define her endeavor as a “resource center.”

NorthPoint Pets & Company is locally owned and focuses on pet nutrition and behavioral well-being.

“Decrisantis and staff provide high-quality products, wellness innovation and personalized options, helping pet parents select healthy foods and supplements with the goal of increasing longevity,” the news release states. “By hosting numerous events throughout the year, Northpoint Pets & Company continues to strengthen its bond with the community and show appreciation for its loyal customers.”
