Cheshire High School Senior Hoping to Establish Scholarship in Friend's Memory

Jill Durso started a GoFundMe page to help raise $5,000 for a scholarship in memory of Brendan McQuade, who passed away at 13 years old.

Cheshire High School senior Jill Durso is working to ensure that the memory of her friend Brendan McQuade, who passed away at the age of 13 when they were in eighth grade, lives on by establishing a scholarship in his honor.

The scholarship is being set up entirely by student funding, and is part of Durso’s senior experience project but she said it means a lot more to her than that.

“I am doing this not only to keep Brendan’s memory alive but I am doing this for his family,” Durso said. “I would love to get the community involved as much as possible and I believe this is a great way to do it.”
