Cheshire Ranks Among Best Places in Connecticut to Raise a Family

Niche.com recently took a look at the best places to raise a family in states across the country.

According to its rankings for Connecticut, Fairfield and Hartford counties dominate the top 100. In fact, the top 5 for Connecticut is all Fairfield County, and the first entrant from outside of Fairfield and Hartford counties is Bethany, representing New Haven County at No. 23.

In the national rankings, Devon, Pennsylvania earned top honors, and only one Connecticut community cracked the nation’s top 100 list. Old Greenwich came in at No. 21.

The lists were created using information about public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family friendly amenities. Data was pulled from the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS, CDC and other sources, according to Niche.
