CT Resident Competes On Jeopardy!: Results
Fran Fried's big night on Jeopardy! was Tuesday. See how Fran performed on the extremely popular television show.

PROSPECT, CT – Fran Fried was tied for first place going in Final Jeopardy on Tuesday night but she risked all her $12,300 and wound up finishing in second place. Fried, who said she watched Tuesday night’s broadcast “at home with my mom,” wound up winning $2,000, tying for second place after getting the last question wrong.
The question was “What country bordered the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf? Fried answered Tibet. The correct answer was Iran.

Fried said she felt she had to bet the entire $12,300 because if she didn’t the person she was tied with – Carlos Nobleza Posas – would have won if he bet the same $12,300 and got the answer correct.
Nobleza Posa didn’t get the answer right – so he wound up tying with Fried.

“I wasn’t being cocky,” Fried said about the big Final Jeopardy bet. “I felt I had to do it.”
The winning player wound up with $1 – something host Alex Trebek said hadn’t happened ‘in quite a long time.
Fried, an editor, journalist and professional disc jockey from Prospect taped the shows in California in August for the airing Tuesday.
Fried, who described the whole experience “as being a blur” also took pride in being the third ever transgender person to appear on the show.
Although she was quick to point out that Jeopardy staffers told her that they expected there would be many more transgender guests to appear in years to come.
