How Many Cheshire Residents Received Coronavirus Vaccine So Far?

State health officials released data for the first time that shows how many residents in each town have been vaccinated for COVID-19.

CHESHIRE, CT — A total of 4,045 Cheshire residents received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of Feb. 1, according to the state Department of Public Health.

There are 28,937 Cheshire residents and 13.98 percent of them have received their first dose of the vaccine. Cheshire has 2,154 residents over the age of 75 and 1,205 of them have received their first dose, or 55.94 percent, according to state health officials.

In nearby towns, Hamden has disseminated the vaccine to 11.35 percent of its population, while Wallingford is at 13.82 percent, Meriden is at 7.86 percent, Prospect is at 10.41 percent and Southington is at 10.82 percent.

Since the pandemic began in March, Cheshire has reported 1,648 cases and 45 deaths.
