Joseph M. Matty, 97, formerly of Cheshire, died on Sept. 24, 2013 at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home after a brief illness.
He was the widower of Helen Zalewski Matty and was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Sarah Cavalier Matazzaro and two brothers, Anthony Matazzaro and Frederick Matazzaro.
He leaves a son, Paul J. Matty, M.D. of Pomfret, two grandchildren, Kathleen and Rachael Matty, and a sister, Marie Streeto of East Haven.
