Local Funeral Director is the New Secretary of Statewide Board

Missy Melin-Miles has been elected Secretary of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA). This will be her fifth year serving on the organization’s Executive Committee.

Melin-Miles is a licensed funeral director/embalmer with Cheshire-based Alderson-Ford Funeral Homes, Inc. In addition to Cheshire, the 98-year-old family-owned funeral firm has locations in Naugatuck and Waterbury.

After receiving her professional schooling from Briarwood College of Mortuary Science (now Goodwin University), Melin-Miles became a funeral director/embalmer in 2000. Prior to joining Alderson-Ford Funeral Homes in 2013, she was a funeral director/embalmer in Arizona, and worked as an embalmer in Japan and Colorado.

Melin-Miles lives in Wolcott. The native of West Haven is an alumna of Lauralton Hall in Milford.
