Representative Linehan Invites Constituents to Budget Town Halls

Representative Liz Linehan pushes for residents to attend budget discussions at town hall to share their thoughts in an open forum.

CHESHIRE, CT - Rep. Liz Linehan (D-Cheshire/Southington/Wallingford) is inviting the public to attend Budget Town Hall discussions to share their input on the state budget. The legislature did not pass a budget before the end of the regular session on June 7th and will reconvene for a special session later this month. If the legislature does not pass a budget by the end of the fiscal year on June 30th, Governor Malloy will make budget decisions through continuing resolutions.

“The legislature is staring down a June 30th budget deadline – after that date Governor Malloy runs the state through executive orders,” Rep. Linehan said. “We know a Malloy budget contains deep cuts for Cheshire, Southington, and Wallingford, which is why it’s critical the General Assembly reaches an agreement. With so much at stake, it’s important that I get input from my constituents.”
