Spring Gifts in Cheshire

Hundreds of daffodils delivered in town.

Just about anywhere you go in town this week, you'll see signs that Sylvia Nichols of has been there.

About 200 vases of daffodils were distributed Tuesday to businesses and town offices to welcome the spring season. Providing free flowers throughout town was a 20-year tradition for Nichols when she owned the Window Box florist.

She decided to resume the practice after she opened the flower shop at Cheshire Nursery on South Main Street.

One of her first stops Tuesday morning was Bagels. "Oh, they're putting them on all the tables," said owner Andrew Moskowitz. "Beautiful."

Nichols said she would deliver the flowers to Town Hall, pharmacies, coffee shops and other businesses across Cheshire.
