This Week in Cheshire: Rain Today, Gone Tomorrow

Today is Monday, Oct. 7 and here's what's going on this week in Cheshire:

— Don't forget your umbrella today. According to the National Weather Service, there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms today with a high of 78. But the showers end tonight and it will be sunny all week, with the next chance of rain Saturday.

— Tonight at 5 p.m. in the Humiston School Board Room, the Board of Education's Curriculum Committee will get the town's Full-Day Kindergarten Task Force's recommendation to implement the program for the next school year. Read more about it here.

— The Cheshire Garden Club meets this morning at 10:30 at the Masonic Temple Lodge, 9 Country Club Road. Wildlife rehabilitator Jayne Neville will discuss migratory songbirds. The public is welcome.

— The Cheshire High School PTO meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Cheshire High School, 525 S. Main St. Vanessa Montorsi of the CHS guidance department will present an overview of the software program used to track student performance.

— On Saturday, the Cheshire Public Library will host its Pumpkin Painting and Fall Crafts Festival from 10:30 to 12 p.m. at the library, 104 Main St. for children ages four and up. Bring a pumpkin. Registration is required and can be done online at www.cheshirelibrary.org. For information, call the library at 203-272-2245.
