A wrap up of things going on this week in Cheshire.

Today is Monday, Oct. 14 and here's what's going on this week:
— Today is Columbus Day, a federal holiday. Town government offices and schools are closed and there is no mail delivery. Many banks also are closed. Retail stores are generally open. The holiday does not affect the garbage pickup
— The Cheshire High School Rams varsity football team lost to Hand of Madison on Friday by a score of 35-24. They're now 2-3 on the season and will be home against Hamden High School Friday for a 7 p.m. start. Hamden is 3-2 on the season.
— On Tuesday, the Economic Development Commission meets at 7:30 a.m. and the Inland Wetlands Commission meets at 7:30 p.m., both at Town Hall.
— The Cheshire Suburban Garden Club will hold its auction Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Cheshire Senior Center. 240 Maple Ave. For information, call Jessica at 203-272-8315 or Mary at 203-881-1620.
