This Week in Cheshire

It's Monday, Sept. 30 and here's what's going on this week in Cheshire:

— Weatherwise, it's going to be a beautiful week, according to the National Weather Service, with sunny days and highs in the 70s and even hitting 80 on Wednesday.

— The Cheshire Women's Club meets Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Cheshire Senior Center on Maple Avenue. There will be a business meeting and luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., the guest speaker will be Joyce Saltman. For information, call Paulette at 203-272-8779.

— The Blessing of the Animals will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Becket Church at 435 North Brooksvale Ave. All pets are welcome to the St. Francis garden. Dogs must be leashed and cats and other pets must be in carriers. Food donations for the Cheshire Animal Shelter will be accepted.

The Inland Wetlands Commission meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.

— On Wednesday, the Parks and Recreation Commission, Public Buildings Commission and the Town Beautification Commission meet.
