1 Dead After Crash in Stolen SUV Near Danbury-Bethel Town Line
A woman in a stolen vehicle that flipped and crashed on Mountainville Road near the Danbury -Bethel line has died.
DANBURY, CT — A woman who was a passenger in a stolen vehicle that flipped after the driver of the vehicle refused to stop for police has died, according to Police Lt. Christian Carroccio.
On Dec. 1 at approximately 10:35 a.m., a Danbury police officer who was working an extra duty job in the area of Main Street and Center Street in Danbury observed a vehicle which police said he knew was stolen. The officer approached the vehicle however the operator of the vehicle drove off, the officer followed the stolen vehicle in his own personal vehicle and called it into Danbury police dispatch, according to a report.
Police said the stolen vehicle headed south bound on Mountainville Road where it then went off the road in the area of 13 Mountainville Road, rolling over. An adult male operator extricated himself from the vehicle but was later transported to Danbury Hospital along with an adult female. Police said both suffered serious injuries.

The investigation has been turned over to Connecticut State Police and the Danbury Police Department will be conducting an internal investigation, according to a report.
